Soi Dog Foundation, Phuket 🐾

Our most recent donation was a truly special one.

Off the back of our Good Friday campaign, and thanks to everyone who purchased during it, we were able to donate £863.24 to Soi Dog Foundation. We travelled to Thailand specifically to visit them and hand the donation over in person.

The funds have been earmarked for life saving vaccinations.

More than anything, I wanted to see the work up close.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear how well organised everything is. Hundreds of dogs across different areas. Quarantine spaces. Recovery wards. Operating theatres in constant use. Teams moving calmly between tasks.

This is not just a shelter. It is a serious operation built to reduce suffering in a practical, long term way.

Their work goes far beyond rescuing individual dogs.

They intercept dogs from abuse and the illegal meat trade.
They run large scale sterilisation programmes.
They vaccinate vulnerable populations to prevent outbreaks.
They rehabilitate injured dogs and coordinate rehoming journeys around the world.

It is steady, structured work that tackles both the immediate problem and the root causes behind it.

Walking through the different areas, what stayed with me were the dogs themselves.

Three legged survivors getting on with life.
Older dogs who have clearly had a tough time but still lean in for attention.
Young rescues slowly building trust.

If I am honest, the visit felt like an important moment in the journey of building Good For Pets.

Seeing the scale of what is possible when an organisation commits fully to its mission was grounding. It made the idea of “impact” feel tangible, not theoretical.

It also reinforced something simple. The more we grow, the more we can contribute to work like this. Not in a dramatic way, just in a steady, meaningful one.

Our £863.24 donation will go directly towards life saving vaccinations, helping protect dogs against diseases such as rabies, parvovirus and distemper. In high density rescue environments, prevention really matters.

That donation only happened because people chose to buy from us.

Those purchases turned into real, practical protection for dogs thousands of miles away.

Thank you for being part of that.
